The measure of our
compassion
is directly equal to our ability to
bear witness
A taste of Stephanie’s teaching…
What is compassion?
Compassion is often described as the “quivering of the heart” when it registers hardship. If we are unwilling to register the truth of suffering, the armour grows hard around our heart. We see suffering as something happening “over there” when it is not ours (pity) and as something that only happens “to me” when it is our own (hello island of self-pity). True compassion happens when the heart quivers in response to the web of suffering that is the natural product of being alive. It seeks to help wherever possible because we understand our interconnection.
Compassion is the force that helps us to keep going.
So keep going! BUT don’t deny it has been hard. Put your hand on your heart. And say, “Wow. This is hard”. Just that is enough to bear witness. When we deny the hardship, we also deny our humanness - when we welcome it, we can transform it.
If you are reading this. I am with you. I hear you. I see you and your struggle too.
It is not a matter of choosing love over fear,
but rather developing the capacity to hold our fear.

Learn compassion and mindfulness with
Stephanie Nosco
My daily practice continually reveals deeper layers of learning and self-discovery. There are so many teachings and teachers available, but I think the real learning must come from your own experience of what you feel to be true - and then being open to question that truth. Our practice is a continual navigation through the wilderness of our body, heart, and mind. May it lead us to a place of solace, peace, and true refuge.
